Man finds whole potato in packet of crisps

An Aldi customer was rather taken aback when he opened his packet of crisps to find a single, whole potato. A customer of discount supermarket chain Aldi had quite the surprise when he opened a packet of crisps. Richard Bootman, 25, ripped open a packet of Snackrite steak and onion crisps only to find a whole potato – and nothing else – inside. Speaking with BT.com, the architectural designer from Mildenhall, Suffolk explained: “I picked it up and it was airtight so I didn’t question it. At first I thought it was a ball of soggy crisps. When I realised what it was, everyone in the office laughed.” Bootman posted images of the potato-filled packet on Twitter, and has ended up seeing his story reach the likes of Russia, India and Taiwan. “We couldn’t believe it. It is likely I will buy them again - brand doesn’t bother me with crisps. But I will feel up the pack before I open them," he said. Aldi later apologised and offered Bootman a full refund.

BABY BORN AT SIDE OF INTERSTATE IN DETROIT

DETROIT (UPI) -- Police said a baby was born Tuesday morning at the side of Interstate 94 in Detroit when the expectant mother couldn't make it to the hospital in time.

Michigan State Police Trooper Mike Zarate said 911 dispatchers received a call at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday about a woman in labor at the side of eastbound I-94, near the exit for Interstate 96, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Zarate said troopers arrived to discover the baby had been born with the help of Detroit Fire Department emergency medical services personnel.

"They were there to deliver the baby," he said. "Everybody's healthy."

Police said the mother and baby, who were not identified by name, were taken to Henry Ford Hospital, The Detroit News reported. Information on the conditions of the patients was not available Tuesday morning, the newspaper said.

REGRESARON SU PERRO DE CERAMICA CON DOS PERRITOS Y UN ALBUM DE SU VIAJES

Lawn decoration returned, with photos
PORTLAND, Ore. (UPI) -- A Portland, Ore., woman who had given up hope of ever seeing her missing ceramic dog again said the item has returned -- with photos of its travels. Edwina Cramer-Norris said she had assumed the dog was gone for good when it disappeared last month, but then she began receiving postcards addressed "To Master" from "Lucky Dog," KPTV, Portland, Ore., reported Monday. Cramer-Norris said she saw a blue van leave her driveway Sunday and when she went outside to investigate, she found her missing lawn decoration sitting in a makeshift dog house alongside a photo album documenting its adventures. She said the pictures depict the dog with a family at locations including DisneyWorld, Graceland, the Mississippi River and New Orleans. She said a note accompanying the pictures explained that the dog had needed a vacation from Oregon because the weather was too rainy. "It's a strange thing," she said. "We're happy to have him back and it gives us something to share with others. (It's) some kind of a strange story." Cramer-Norris said the missing dog returned with two new additions to the family -- a pair of ceramic puppies.

UNA COMPANIA EN INGLATERRA ESTA ACUSADA DE VENDER AJUSTADORES SEXY PARA MENORES

Tesco Accused of Selling Sexy Bra to Kids
CHESHUNT, England (UPI) -- Calling it highly inappropriate, critics say the English supermarket chain Tesco is marketing a "bust-booster" bra to 7-year-olds. The Cherokee padded bra, which costs about $8 and mimics a low-cut style to flatter womens' cleavage, is on Tesco shelves near other clothing for 7- and 8-year-olds,The Daily Mail reported Monday. Critics argue the bra, called a "bust-booster," is highly inappropriate for girls as young as 7, especially because most girls that age haven't even begun developing breasts. "Children grow up quickly enough as it is. The last thing they need is a product like this," London mother of two Julie Stephens said. Tesco has defended its product, claiming it is not meant to be sexually provocative. "It is a product designed for girls at that self-conscious age when they are just developing. Designed to cover up, not flatter, it was developed after speaking to parents," a Tesco spokesman said. Tesco was slammed once before in 2006 for selling a pole-dancing product in its online shopping toy section. The product was taken off the company's Web site. UNA POLICIA RESCATA EL DUENO DE UNA TIENDA DE MASCOTA DE UN PITON

Cop Rescues Pet Store Owner from Python
EUGENE, Ore. (UPI) -- An Oregon police officer and firefighters saved a pet store owner from a 12-foot Burmese python, using a screw driver to pry open the snake's jaws. Sgt. Ryan Nelson told the Eugene (Ore.) Register-Guard his first thought when he reached the store Thursday was to cut off the python's head. But Teresa Rossiter, who owns Best Friends with her husband, begged him not to, even though the snake was biting her ring finger and coiled around her body. While Rossiter lay on the floor, the snake slowly tightening its grip, Nelson put on gloves and tried getting the mouth open. A firefighter poured cold water on its head, which did not work either. Finally, a firefighter used the screw driver while Nelson pulled Rossiter to safety. He then wrangled the angry snake into its cage. Rossiter said she opened the cage to show off the python and forgot she had been handling mice.

NO HABRA MAS PROBLEMA ELECTRICA EN INGLATERRA POR LA TELEVISION

No More Strain on Grid from TV Audience
LONDON (UPI) -- Engineers with the British National Grid have found a symptom of the fragmented TV audience -- the end of huge surges of electrical use after popular shows. The 1990 World Cup semifinal between England and Germany set an all-time record of 2,800 megawatts as more than 1 million people turned on their electric kettles at the same time after the game, The Scotsman reports. The final episode of "The Thornbirds," a mini-series starring Richard Chamberlain that aired in Britain in 1984, is a close second at 2,600 megawatts. But the latest incarnation of "Doctor Who," the science fiction series that has been running for decades, created only a 400-megawatt surge, roughly the equivalent of 160,000 electric kettles. While sports events, especially late World Cup games with England playing, can still cause a surge, the 2,290-megawatt surge that followed the 2002 "who shot Phil Mitchell" episode of the popular prime-time soap opera "East Enders" appears likely to be the last caused by a dramatic TV episode.

PORQUE SOLO LA MITAD??

Porn Star's Bottom Half Replica Stolen
FULLERTON, Calif. (UPI) -- Police in California are on the lookout for a $250 replica of the bottom half of porn star Jenna Jameson's body that was stolen from an adult store. Security video taken April 15 shows a man running off with the replica after breaking into the Erogenous Zone in Fullerton, Calif., The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported. The man reportedly first tried to break the glass of the front door, but had no luck, so he opted to smash the front window instead. The robber decided to take the half Jameson body replica, apparently after realizing he couldn't get the cash register open, the newspaper said. Copyright 2008 by United Press International

SOS. HELP BRUNO. Blog Solidarity

The boy in these photos is Bruno Alberto Gentiletti. He disappeared on March 2, 1997 in Rosario's resort called La Florida when he was 9 years old (see first photo).

Bruno has green greyish eyes, chestnut-colored hair, white skin and a scar located in the right scapula. He was born on June 18, 1988 in Las Rosas, Santa Fe, Argentina.

Today Bruno is 19 years old. His family did a study of progression of age at the International Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Bruno would look like the second photo now.

We believe that you can help us find him. So I ask you to send an email with the information and/or the address of this blog http://brunogentiletti.blogspot.com to all your friends and acquaintances, in this country and around the world, so that in turn, they can do the same.

Like Bruno, there are thousands of children who have been denied the right to grow up with their families and they all deserve that an effort be made to find them.
Thank you for YOUR HELP!!!
